Working Principle Of A Fully Electric Vertical Injection Molding Machine

A fully electric injection molding machine is a plastic molding processing equipment that uses a servo motor as the main power source to drive various action units (injection, plasticizing, mold opening and closing, ejection, etc.). Its core lies in eliminating the traditional hydraulic system and precisely converting electrical energy into mechanical energy through the servo motor.

Its working principle is based on a high-precision servo motor drive. The servo motor, through mechanisms such as ball screws, synchronous belts, or rack and pinion gears, precisely converts rotary motion into the linear motion required for injection, mold closing, and other actions. Some advanced models adopt a direct-drive structure, integrating the servo motor within the injection or clamping device to directly drive the actuators, reducing mechanical losses in intermediate transmission links.

A complete injection molding cycle typically includes the following steps: Plasticizing stage: A servo motor drives the screw to rotate inside the barrel, heating, shearing, melting, and conveying the plastic granules to the screw tip; Mold closing stage: A servo motor drives the toggle mechanism or directly drives the mold platen to quickly and smoothly close the mold and apply a preset clamping force; Injection stage: A servo motor drives the ball screw to push the screw, injecting the molten plastic into the sealed mold cavity with precisely controlled pressure and speed; Holding and cooling stage: After injection, the screw maintains a certain pressure to compensate for material shrinkage, while the mold cooling system solidifies the plastic; Mold opening and ejection stage: A servo motor drives the mold opening mechanism to open the mold, and then drives the ejection mechanism to eject the molded product.
